A well stocked bar is essential in every household. Apartments in New York are never quite big enough, so a bar cart is a great space saver! Since bar carts have limited capacity, only put out the ingredients for the night’s beverages along with the necessary barware and a few accessories. Now this does not mean that the bar cart needs to look boring. A bar cart should be festive – full of color, texture and whimsy. Below are The Decophile’s picks for making the perfect cart:

Snacks are a must at a cocktail party! Use silver dishes to hold little bites to nibble on such as olives, nuts and chunks of Parmesan cheese. Pewter Leaf Dish by Bruce Fox, $100. Available at Buck House, NYC.

For the finishing touch, place a framed sketch, drawing or print at the back of your bar. This will make the bar's "composition" complete. Shadowscape, from the series Perceptual Beauty, $115 - $1,725 depending on size. Available on 20x200.com
